Lobbying
& Advocacy

Ensuring the voice of commercial timber growers is heard at every policy level.

Advocacy
Key Takeaways
  • Tax policy reform
  • Land tenure security
  • Export standards advocacy

UTGA serves as a vital bridge between the private timber sector and government regulatory bodies. Our lobbying efforts are focused on creating a stable, predictable, and profitable environment for long-term timber investments.

"Our mission is to ensure that timber is recognized as a primary pillar of Uganda's industrial growth."

We actively participate in legislative reviews, providing data-driven insights to ensure that tax policies and land regulations support sustainable forestry. Our team works closely with the Ministry of Water and Environment, the National Forestry Authority, and other key stakeholders.

Beyond policy, we represent members in international certification forums, ensuring that Uganda's timber meets global sustainability standards while remaining competitive in the export market.
